PITIK-BULAG: Drop Your Doubts and Believe.
“Faith is to believe what you do not see; the reward of this faith is to see what you believe.” – Saint Augustine
As we end the Octave of Easter, our gospel today shows how the disciples themselves remained in their unbelief in spite of the witnessing of Mary Magdalene and the two disciples from Emmaus. In this short gospel story, the attitude of unbelieving was mentioned three times. Yet, it is re-echoing in our hearts, telling us, “Drop your doubts and believe.”
WAKE UP. In his desire to assist his disciples out of their unbelief, Jesus appeared in their midst and rebuked them of their UNBELIEF AND HARDNESS OF HEART. Yet, to our amazement, after rebuking his disciples, Jesus COMMISSIONED them to proclaim the gospel to all people. Such was Jesus’ great patience and undying perseverance to wake them up from their slumber and take an active role in proclaiming the good news.
Are you still in your unbelief mode? Are you still weeping from your dyings and woundedness? In spite of God’s countless manifestations of God’s love and goodness, do you remain in your unending struggle of questioning the mysterious ways of God? What keeps you in your unbelief?
WALK WITH FAITH. The Lord never gets tired of knocking at your heart to rise from slumber and darkness. He wants you to believe – for to believe in Jesus is to see things from God’s perspective. Yes, you are being commissioned to make a difference in this life, especially in times of Covid-19. In challenging moments like this, the disciples of Jesus should rise from their tombs and begin igniting the hearts of people and heal their heartaches. Wipe away your tears, set aside your anxieties, and begin to believe. This time, let Jesus be proud of you. Disciples are born and made in the midst of crisis, not is sunny days. It’s time to take an active role as the bearer of Good News!
To My Risen Lord and Saviour
Dear God,
I do not know what’s ahead of me.
But knowing that you’re ahead of me,
is enough to give me great confidence
to believe that all will turn out very well.
Today, let me praise and glorify you,
for accompanying me in my journey.
The future threatens my peaceful heart,
but I put all my care in your loving hands.
Today, let me worship and adore you,
for loving me without any reservation.
I am not a faithful believer and follower,
but you are ever-patient and faithful to me.
Today, let me thank and exalt your name,
for pouring out in me your overflowing grace.
I don’t deserve these wonderful blessings,
I am awed and my spirit is filled with joy.
Today, let me praise and worship you,
for choosing me to serve your people.
I am not worthy of your call – for I’m weak,
but you gave me your strength and love.
O Dear God, my enemies are still there,
the challenges seem so huge and wide,
and the wounds are still fresh and painful,
but I placed all my hope and trust in you.
You are my risen Lord and Saviour,
You embraced your cross with firmness.
Let me embraced mine with confidence,
as I wait for my victory and resurrection.
Today, I place all my trust and hope in you.
Hold my wavering faith and don’t let me go.
Let me joyfully survived and win my battle,
for I am weak, but I’m strong with your love.
O Lord, all praise and honor to you.
Let me raise my hands in total surrender.
Let me trust you with all my heart and soul,
for you are my risen Lord and Saviour.
I love you, Lord.
I worship you, my Saviour.
You are my rock and my fortress.
At your right time, all shall be well.
