Dear God,
one thing I desire today,
to know, love, and serve you more.
There are so many things to catch up,
and many to learn and unlearn about you.
O Lord, send forth your Holy Spirit now
and set the flame of great desire to seek you.
I beg you, Dear Lord, to reveal yourself to me now,
hide not your face and let me see you more clearly.
Allow me to converse with you in my silence,
teach me how to listen attentively to your Words.
Allow me to read your mind and follow your commands,
to know your will is to take the path of righteousness.
Allow me to hear your heartbeat and let me feel you,
increase my heart’s desire to love you more dearly.
Allow me to know you more through your people,
as I listen to their pleas, dreams, pains, and joys.
Allow me to be more humble and faithful,
as I carry my daily cross with joy in my heart.
Allow me to be more patient and resilient,
as I reject the temptation of giving up.
Allow me to be more generous in giving my YES,
as I walk through the unknown road and destination.
Allow me to be more like you,
as I follow your footsteps.
Open my eyes and ears to your holy will,
and be more sensitive to your promptings.
So that when that final day will come
and will ask me, “Who am I for you?”
Like Peter, your beloved apostle, I will say,
with deep conviction and great devotion …
“You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God.
You are my Lord, my God, and my everything.”
