Today we received the good news that we are again allowed to hold public religious gatherings, with ten percent of sitting capacity as maximum occupancy permitted in our parish Churches.
If you remember, our permission to hold public religious gatherings practically remained suspended, even after Metro Manila was brought back to the GCQ status. We were at least glad during those weeks that our online Masses inside our spacious Churches could be physically attended by ten persons at most: the priest, the altar server, the lectors and commentator, the sacristan, the technicians doing livestreaming.
But all throughout that time, the same IATF had issued a circular allowing casino operators to allow “the resumption of operations of PAGCOR and its licensees at 30% operational capacity in areas under GCQ.” (See letter of IATF to the PACOR CEO.)
Take note: 30 percent capacity in casinos since Aug 24! And now we are finally being allowed 10 per cent capacity in our Churches. Wider and broader indeed is the road to perdition! (Matthew 7:13)
